The Orb

The Orb is a moving image and also witholds a never ending story. Captured with a handmade piece of glass, an overhead projector, and turned by the artist's hands, the digital chronicle reflects the live performance history of the piece. The Orb has traveled on several North American tours with violinist Kishi Bashi. Performed live by the artist during each performance, no two experiences or renditions are alike. The digital adaptation allows the artist to carry forward The Orb into infinite potential spaces and collaborations. This current digital version of The Orb is scored by cellist Austin Hoke, and was used in a performative art healing ritual at Vanderbilt Divinity School.
